The main mission of the division is to increase food production: to promote, direct, and assist the efforts of farmers to attain a high level of diversified food production to supply to the country’s requirement according to the Government policy objectives and goals.

The need for fresh, good quality, and low-cost food products, thus reducing the countries dependence on imported foods by at least 10% during the current government’s administration. This is to ensure increase food security which is a direct consequence of increased food production is a corresponding increase in our food security.

We are presently importing over 90% of our food supplies from abroad and our survival is dependent on the action of forces that are beyond our control.
