Primary Sources

The primary source of information on agricultural extension and advisory service providers in various countries were the responses received through surveys sent out directly to contacts in these countries, through the FAO representatives particularly in African countries, and IICA contacts in Latin America. Only a subset of the responses shared by the service providers are shared in the form of International Directory pages created for institutions with 15 or more staff members. Data for example on financial resources available to these institutions are not shared publicly. This confidential data will be analyzed at an aggregated, anonymous level and reported on a regional level in a later phase of this project.  

The survey instrument are available in English, French, and Spanish and are attached below. We would greatly appreciate if service providers who do not find themselves represented in the respective countries would download the questionnaire, complete it and send it to the Principal Investigators per instructions provided in the survey instrument.

Secondary Sources

Information found online through for example the ministries of agriculture, national agricultural research institutions, individual non-governmental organizations, and specific farmer based organizations are reported as secondary sources of information on extension and advisory service providers. Again, we would greatly appreciate receiving relevant documents and other forms of information on extension from countries across the world. Statistical Indicators

The main source of statistical indicators from the World Bank, accessible at http://data.worldbank.org, and the Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO, specifically accessible at http://faostat.fao.org. The data set used is attached below.
